Melissa was born in Gulfport, MS in 1965 and raised in Long Beach, MS where she currently resides.


October, 2002 was her parents’ 40th wedding anniversary.  She needed a large enough wedding cake to feed the number of guests invited.  She decided to give it a try and created her first master piece.  She got numerous favorable comments on the cake; not only was it beautiful, but it tasted good.  Everyone wanted to know who made the cake.  Her close friend Carien encouraged her to pursue more decorating.  She discovered that she had a gift; also she found it enjoyable and challenging.  She now creates exceptionally beautiful cakes that reflect the tastes and personality of each client.

Wow!!! Our cake was beautiful. We ordered a fondant wedding cake and our guest actually ate the fondant. Melissa’s fondant was so thin and it even tasted good. I have been to a couple of weddings recently and the fondant was so thick that it had to be peeled off before the bride and groom could cut the cake. The bakery that they used didn’t even have buttercream under the fondant. Melissas had a thick layer of buttercream under the fondant. The grooms cake far exceeded our expectations as well. Way to go Melissa’s!!!

Hello name is Doris in live in Plano, TX. Please allow me to tell my story with Melissa's Specialty Cake.We were vacationing to Biloxi this year. My sister-in-law mentioned that she had never had a birthday party. I decided to make it happen.I called all the the bakeries in the Gulfport/Biloxi area and found Melissa's. Melissa not only listened to my request for the cake.She made some great suggestions on what she could also do to enhance it.She delivered to the location of my choice. We use Melissa's for every event that we have. The cakes are by far the best on the coast! We haven't tasted a better one. She did our cakes for our wedding and they were some of the most beautiful that we'd ever seen...better than the magazines! She's a pleasure to deal with and is very prompt and professional upon delivery. Her linens were used at our wedding as well and they looked phenominal! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful wedding....much thanks to Melissa!
